Caitlin Musto – MEng Student

Caitlin is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in the Department of Engineering at Durham University. Her capstone project, supervised by Roy, investigates the advancement of transparent and flexible antennas and sensors using inkjet-printed silver micro-mesh. This research aims to contribute to the development of next-generation wearable and IoT devices. In the summer of 2024, Caitlin undertook a research project on origami metasurfaces at PA Consulting. She explored how changes in 2D geometry between cells impact the effects of radiofrequency waves through the surface. Outside of her studies, Caitlin is an active member of the Durham University Solar Car Team, contributing to the design and construction of cutting-edge solar-powered vehicles. She is currently working on the design of the solar array for their newest car, DUSC2025, which is scheduled to race across the Australian continent in August 2025.
