Dan completed their Integrated Masters in Electronics Engineering at Durham University in July 2026. Their capstone project, supervised by Roy, was entitled Enhancing Microwave Performance of
Carbon-Based Conductors Through
Silver-Carbon Microstructure Patterning, in which they used a direct ink writing system to study the conductivity of various silver-carbon composite printed films. Dan has since continued working with Roy as a Research Assistant on his EPSRC IAA project in collaboration with Jiva Materials Ltd, exploring sustainable chipless RFID systems. Outside of Engineering, Dan is a keen photographer and enjoys playing Bass Trombone in a variety of contexts including Orchestras, Jazz Band and Musical Theatre settings.
