George Lythgoe
George completed his BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from the Department of Engineering, Durham University in July 2026, graduating with First Class honours. His dissertation, supervised by Roy and Benjamin Maddox, examined the construction of a design framework for microwave antennas in ultra-cold environments for quantum computing purposes. Alongside his degree, he spent the summer of 2025 completing an internship in Bristol, where he developed advanced Deep Reinforcement Learning algorithms with GPUs for High Performance Computing applications. George is set to begin his MPhil in Scientific Computing at the University of Cambridge in September 2026.
