Jacob Stanislaus – MEng Student

Jacob is currently pursuing an MEng in Electronic Engineering at Durham University. His capstone project, supervised by Roy, focuses on developing dedicated readout architectures for passive microwave sensors. He is investigating interrogation techniques and FPGA-based digital signal processing to extract resonant responses for applications such as monitoring honey ripening. He has gained nine months of industry experience through internships at Cirrus Logic, Renishaw and IONX Networks, spanning mixed-signal IC validation, FPGA development, embedded systems, PCB design and automated hardware testing. His technical interests include digital hardware design, FPGA-based processing and hardware verification.

Alongside his studies, Jacob served as Commodore and President of Durham University Sailing Club, where he led a committee of 14 and organised major university sailing events and competitions.
