Shaoyang is currently pursuing his MSc degree in the Department of Engineering at Durham University. He earned his B.Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering from Royal Holloway University of London in 2024. Since January 2025, he has been working on his final project focusing on the development of transparent metamaterial lines enabling surface plasmon polariton behaviour for future IoT applications, supervised by Roy. His particular focus is investigating line interconnection and power branching mechanisms in SPP-based transparent metamaterial lines.
